We loved it here. I booked Esplendor on a whim for two nights (couldn't get into Home Hotel on those particular nights) and was a little concerned about the noise factor I had read about here. It really wasn't a big deal. We had a 4th floor room above San Martin. While we could definitely hear "street noise" from below, it was NOTHING to complain about. I would compare it to sleeping in any hotel in a major city - normal street sounds.
The decor was minimalist and chic. Bed very comfy. Spotless room. The only weird thing about the room was the shower - it had a wood bottom and leaked everywhere in the bathroom. I cannot imagine who would have designed this inconvenient thing.
We ate in the restaurant once and it was delish, though it was always empty, which is never a good sign. Nice business center.
I'd stay here again, although I'd probably rather stay in Palermo.
I read about this hotel in travel & leisure and was very happy with our stay. i went with 2 other girlfriends (one from england and one from dallas --- we met in buenos aires), and we were all extremely pleased with the hotel. our room wasn't noisy (we had a room towards the back of the hotel), and we found the hotel staff to be friendly, helpful (they booked our tickets for a polo match and had someone pick us up), and easy to converse with. the breakfast was included in the meals and was a nice perk before the busy day. the rooms were large, with the high ceilings and very comfy beds (slept like a log), and i loved the "business center" which was like a living room lounge. very comfy and mod. this hotel truly is like a modern art museum with the mosaic-like portraits of such argentine figures as eva peron. if i were in buenos aires again, i wouldn't think twice about staying here. good experience for a girls' trip.
The hotel location is unbeatable as well as the nice decorated rooms. The staff give their best to make you feel confortable also. The only downside is how noisy it gets at least for the rooms facing the street across San Martin. It is a very packed avenue that takes traffic flows into the city. However, if you have a hard sleep, most likely you wont even notice what happens outside. Overall, it was a nice experience and would stay there again in the future if I get the same fare: US$70 p/night.
The hotel was really cool. It was in a good location situated next to Florida Street, and Galerias Pacificos the famous shopping mall. I felt safe because there were always people around the entrance of the hotel, and there was a security guard who opened and closed the door everytime we left and came back to the hotel.
The rate we got was great 75 USD a night, at first they gave us a room on the second floor, it was close to the street so we could hear all these buses, and cars. We asked if we could move, and they put us in a suite.
The new room had an outdoor terrace that wrapped around the room. The bathrooms are not ultra luxurious, but they are nice. The decor is funky, and fun. The beds were so comfortable.
The whole staff was extremely friendly. The housekeeper very friendly also.
The breakfast was delicious, and included.
Everything was great, would definitely return to this hotel.
I had stayed at the Melia before, which was more expensive and a tad more luxurious, but I would definitely pick this one over the Melia.
