We just got back from an eight day stay at Dazzler Tower, and highly recommend it to anyone headed to Buenos Aires. The hotel is very modern and clean, with large rooms, restaurant, free internet in the lobby, and a great location. I can't say enough good things about the staff - they are all top notch professionals. Front desk staff all speak English and are very helpful with recommendations, ordering taxis, and any little detail you need. Our check in was very smooth, and they even let us have the room several hours before check in time (our flight arrived BA at 7:45 a.m.) Our room was very large and faced San Martin street. We were on the 7th floor, so away from the street noise. There don't seem to be that many rooms per floor, so the staff really is able to give personal attention. Furniture is all new and modern, and the room was in excellent condition. Beds are very supportive and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower is incredible. The location in the Retiro district is very close to San Martin subway stop, Galerias Pacifico shopping mall, and the major streets of Santa Fe, Cordoba and Ave. 9 de Julio. We spent a lot of time just walking, but it is also very easy to get a cab or subway. Retiro is overall a nice area; lots of French-style architecture and generally clean and very safe. It is also close to other areas like Puerto Madero, Recoleta and the Microcentro. The area gets a bit quiet at night; there aren't too many bars or restaurants within walking distance, but cabs are very easy. We ate breakfast in the lobby restaurant once, but preferred to walk down to Alimentari on the corner for coffee and pastries and a more real Buenos Aires experience. I highly recommend Dazzler Tower, and muchisimas gracias to the staff for a great stay in their city! I stayed at this hotel for on two occasions in February and March 2008 after it was recommended to me by a friend. I wasn´t disappointed - on both occasions my room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. I was so impressed on my first stay that I rebooked it a month later when I returned to Buenos Aires. The first time my room was on the 10th floor and was bright and airy. My only slight quibble is that on my second visit I stayed on a lower floor, where the view was obscured by neighbouring buildings and was fairly dingy. But that´s par for the course in a city centre hotel and wouldn´t put me off staying again. I found the reception staff friendly and efficient (and English speaking), and was pleased to find free internet access on the ground floor. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was pretty good by South American standards, with lots of choice including fresh fruit. The hotel´s location is excellent - walking distance from the main sights including the port area, Recoleta etc, and just round the corner from Florida Street. And right opposite the hotel is an excellent laundry, so no need to waste your money on the hotel laundry service.
