If you like being where the action is, then this is the place for you. It's located on the big wide main avenue (9 De Julio) across from the Obelisk and it's traffic, action and people like being in Time's Square. Hotel sits on the corner of La Valle Street a pedestrian mall several blocks long with stores, restaurants, theaters, street vendors, street performers, internet houses, etc.
One block from the hotel is the corner with Corrientes Ave. which is the theater district. On this corner sits the Cafe de La Cuidad with it's outdoor tables overlooking the busy Avenues and the Obelisk. Fun place to have a snack and people watch day and into the night. The "A", "C" and "D" Subte (subway) lines are all within 2 blocks of the hotel.
The hotel and room were clean and neat with air conditioning. The room we had was awful small. About the size of a cabin on a cruise ship. But, we didn't spend much time in there as we were out days and evenings until late. We wanted a room in the front where we could check out the avenue and it was interesting but noisy with the trafffic and constant demonstrations. The dining room is big and airy and the free daily breakfasts were very substantial: Eggs, potatos, sausauges, toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt, rolls, cake, cold cuts, juice, coffee, tea, much more.
You get a newspaper delivered to your room every day. The hotel was modern looking but functional, we would stay there again.
I was worried about the noisy avenue because I just can't sleep hearing the traffic noise. But that was not a problem at all. The double glazed windows worked great. I was in the 11th floor in a 2-room suite with a double bed (in one room) and 2 single beds in a separate room connected by a door. Plenty of room for us. The suite was very clean, and although it has carpet on the floor, it was not smelly. The bathroom was very clean, recently renovated, and with a great shower. The staff was very polite. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruits, pastries, hot meal. I think it is not as good as we have in most hotels in Brazil, but splendid when compared to continental breakfasts. Great choice if you want to stay close to Calle Florida, Corrientes, etc. The staff is concerned with security because my room key stopped working and I had to show my passport and documents to get a new key. That was very good.
