The reservation was set up by a travel agent. The hotel is located in Retiro which places you in a great location for exploration. For example, it is minutes from Florida Street. There is a grocery store next door. A nice restaurant and laundry service across the street. The hotel is well kept and clean. The main lobby needs renovation. The rooms have nice amenities including modern bathrooms and kitchenettes. Unfortunately, the AC/Heat is not well controlled in the room. The television has very few English speaking channels. The hotel does lack an adequate concierge service although the front desk staff was nice. The restaurant had a good breakfast each morning. The location seemed very safe. If you are someone who needs more information and direction from a concierge, then this might not be the best hotel for you. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel for its great value and location. I booked this hotel through a flight/hotel deal, and wasn't sure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised- the room was sparkling and spacious, with a large bathroom and separate wetbar/eating area with a table and chairs. The surrounding neighborhhood is quiet- there's a church next door. If you're a walker, you can get down to the redeveloped port area, ferry terminal, or the posh area of Recoleta in 15-20 mins. I walked all over the city, and found that the hotel was well situated to a tourist's needs. There are very nice restaurants within a few blocks and lovely museums. Having the Plaza San Martin and its Metro stop nearby is great too. I'd certainly stay here again!
