Stunning wineries, beautiful scenery, great wines and excellent food make for the perfect wine tour in Mendoza, Argentina.
We pick you up in the morning at 9am and head for the vineyards of Luján de Cuyo, in the heart of Mendoza wine country. Our English-speaking guide will escort you around four premium wineries, old and modern, high tech and quaint, with a spectacular backdrop of snow-capped mountains.
First we take you to Mendel, an old historical winery run by one of Argentina's most famous winemakers Roberto de la Motta. The vineyard's 100-year old vines produce excellent conentrated Malbec and we try the winery's top label Unos, rated 94-points by Robert Parker JR. Next we have a tasting at the well appointed Dante Robino, a fascinating mix of old and new. Here we see one of Argentina's finest sparkling wine operations, as well as try their rich reds such as Malbec and Syrah. At midday we visit Club Tapiz, a wine lodge, winery and olive house. Here we have an incredible gourmet lunch where four wines are paired with four dishes. You will taste Mendoza's finest Sauvignon Blanc, as well as excellent Syrah and Malbec. We finish the day at Alta Vista, a traditional winery completely renovated and refurbished by a French wine family. Here we try Torrontes, Bonarda, Malbec and have a special tasting of their Grand Reserva, one of Argentina's best Malbecs. We return to Mendoza.
