A place where the mountain and the rural landscape come together...
An invitation to adventure...
Flanked by the south-east ridges of the Sierra de Comechingones, the Sierras del
Sur area is the meeting point of rural and mountain environments, which
combine different landscapes, tradition and adventure.
Comechingones Indians, its first inhabitants, have left pictographic testimonies
of their life in the archaeological site of Cerro Intihuasi, located in this area.
The towns of Río de los Sauces, Alpa Corral, Las Albahacas and El Chacay constitute
circuits and offers for resting, horse riding and trekking, thus allowing
adventure and nature tourism, as well as the non-traditional rural and farm tourism. Río
Cuarto, the second largest city in the province, is also a centre of services and culture, with
an important infrastructure for tourists interested in the attractions offered by the area.
