This golf course, more than 75 years old, has the most uneven terrain of all due to its
rolling features. In fact, the town of La Cumbre and its golf course are located in
the heart of Punilla Valley, where the mountains are the main features of the landscape. In the centre
of that picturesque town, 100 kilometres from the capital city of
Córdoba, the English-style golf course
stands out, surrounded by important groups of trees.
The golf course's green slopes make that
tourist destination par excellence, always chosen for its refinement and
good taste, even more attractive. The par 70 golf course includes
several dog-legs and its fairways are "bermuda" grass, while greens
are "tifway" grass, the latter being very fast and of top quality. At the same time, the
typical grasses of the region (paja brava, a grass similar to esparto which grows into thick bushes) form
a kind of island in the so-called "contour cut", challenging the strategies of each player. It
does not have any lakes, yet there are a great number of artificial hazards
and a very peculiar layout, which makes it almost unique for the practice of
this sport. Thus, it is not surprising that many people compare this golf course
with the best ones in beautiful Scotland.
