The beauty of the Pehuén Forest
The Copahue Volcano seen from Caviahue
|
Caviahue is situated in the northwest of Neuquén
province, beside the multi-coloured lake of the same name, at 1,600 m.a.s.l.
During the winter, the mountain and pehuen´s forests,
which sorround the place, are covered with snow that is much visited by
tourists. The combination of the special trees, the basaltic soil and the
amazing colour or the lake make it a unique place to explore. The zone
is plenty of rivulets, cascades and lagoones.
Copahue is situated fifteen km from Caviahue, at
the foot of Copahue volcano (2,917 m).
This is a volcanic region and Copahue Termas is enclosed
in a gigantic amphitheatre formed by mountain walls, with an opening to
the east. I
It is a well known area due to its thermal baths, which
are open from November and until the first snow. Copahue receives the tourists
who come here to enjoy its sulfurous natural water that are very much appreciated
for their headling properties.
