San Carlos de Bariloche, also called the Argentinean Switzerland,   is situated in the southwest of Río Negro province, beside the south coast of Nahuel Haupi lake and is surrounded by the national park of the same name. 

It is a busy and commercialized city with more than 120.000 inhabitants that holds many tourist attractions that make the city one of the main tourist center of Argentina. Each year more than 700.000 tourists visit the region to enjoy the wonderful possibilities that the combination of the Patagonian desert and the rain forest of the Andes gives.

If you visit this city you will enjoy rafting the Manso river, go fishing on one of the several lakes (Nahuel Haupí, Mascardi, Hess, Correntoso, Traful, Escondido, etc.) or rivers (Correntoso, Limay, etc.) that cover the region, trekking on the Cerro López or the Tronador mount, or horseback riding in one of the many ranch inside the national park.
Another important attraction is sailing or boating to Chile through the lakes that connect both sides of the Andes.

Skiing: There is good skiing during the winter season (July to early October). The favorite skiing slopes are on Cerro Catedral.

The city is build in mountain style architecture. It has all the services for tourists and more than 20,000 beds.
